TCC Meeting #21 of 2025
Last Thursday, on September 18, The Corridor Counts, Inc., met to go over details regarding the September 16 Press Conference and Demonstration that demanded Town of Hempstead Supervisor John Ferretti to resign and for Attorney General Letitia James to investigate no-show jobs in the Town of Hempstead. In addition, members heard community liaison reports from Uniondale and Hempstead regarding missing funds in local government, downtown development in Hempstead, and issues with charter schools. The group decided to pen letters to various parties to address these issues. There was a discussion about local 2025 elections in the Town of Hempstead and the Nassau County Legislature, as well as awareness raised about the maintenance issues at 100 Terrace Avenue Apartments. Lastly, TCC, joined by the Reed family, held a recognition of the life and legacy of civil rights and education equity icon Rener Reed. Through storytelling of her impact on Long Island and with a music tribute, members spent time reflecting on Reed’s contributions and honoring her memory.
TCC meets every Thursday at 6:30 pm at 556 Peninsula Blvd. Hempstead, NY 11550. Please join us in this important work - all are welcome!
